piconet® – that is the byword for a new generation of miniaturised decentralised I/O modules in protection degree IP67. piconet® stations are a lot smaller than conventional fieldbus components and can be mounted directly in the field.

All modules feature compact IP67 housings with fully encapsulated electronics so that error-free operation of the installation is ensured - even if the industrial environment involves exposure to dust, oil or humidity.
The piconet® product spectrum is just as versatile and flexible. All standalone modules can be connected directly to the fieldbus, so that availability with PROFIBUS-DP and DeviceNet™ is ensured. In addition to the 8-channel digital and 4-channel analogue stand-alone modules, the piconet® family comprises coupling and extension modules.
These communicate via a fibre-optic subnet (IP-Link). Up to 120 extensions can be connected decentrally via the coupling module. Thus the system not only offers costeffective “wiring” but also maximum data integrity due to fibre-optic transmission.
