Flow sensors for larger pipe diameters
Extended probe lengths enhance functionality of Turck’s flow sensors for hazardous areas

21/09 – October 9, 2009

Turck is now offering its Atex-certified flow sensors for gaseous media, FCS, with probe lengths of 100, 140 and 220 millimeters. The new extended probes significantly enhance the sensors’ functionality by allowing users to install the sensors in pipes with diameters of up to 440 millimeters.

The IP67 rated stainless steel sensors are certified for gas zone 1 and can simply be installed in the tube via a tee connector. Based on the thermo-dynamic principle, the sensors reliably detect the flow status of gaseous media, like air, by evaluating the flow-induced temperature difference between the heated probe and the medium. Turck’s new FCS sensors are available as connector or cable devices with G1/2” mechanical connections.

Installed in non-explosive areas, the sensors can easily be parameterized on-site via a separate evaluation unit featuring a potentiometer and status LEDs.

The new extended measuring probes allow users to install Turck’s air flow sensors in larger pipes with diameters of up to 440 millimeters
