  Diagnostic Power Conditioner System

Turck presents new power conditioner with a diagnostics tool for Foundation Fieldbus networks and complete galvanic isolation

02/07 – March 9, 2007

The Turck portfolio has been enlarged by a  brand new entrant, the Diagnostic Power Conditioner System (DPC-System) for Foundation Fieldbus. The power conditioner features an integrated diagnostics module, which supports the user with the commissioning of a fieldbus system. Furthermore it is capable of detecting interferences and even creeping changes within single Foundation Fieldbus segments. With a special alarm strategy fieldbus typical asset errors can be completely avoided. In order to make complex fieldbus diagnostic transparent for operators, single values and parameters in the Asset Management System are graphically displayed via DTM (Device Type Manager). The DTM can be integrated in any FDT frame application.

The DPC system supplies primary up to 16 segments, each with a maximum of 800mA output current and 30 VDC output voltage. Practically speaking even long distance segments up to1900m can be bridged and nodes with high power consumption can be connected. In order to receive the signal feedback free, the DPC system made by Turck now features also complete galvanic isolation. Turck applies High Speed Ethernet (HSE) for Foundation Fieldbus in this case.

The DPC system for Foundation Fieldbus can be connected easily via standard Ethernet components. This way the existing Ethernet structure can be used for segment diagnostics. Thanks to the application of Ethernet  neither the numer of HSE Field devices nor the length of HSE are restricted.

Asset Management for fieldbus connections: Turck has rounded off its spectrum of administrable physical layer components with the new DPC system
