Analog eddy-current sensors can distinguish between different metals regardless of distance.

Sometimes, it is the small things that bring joy to the heart of an engineer – especially if these small things bring with them a broad
application bandwidth. The sensor, fieldbus and interface specialist Turck has introduced one such “small thing:” A sensor that not only detects the presence of a metal, but also its composition – regardless of the distance between the sensor and the object.
